Basildon Park – 16th September 2013

On Monday the 16th September 2013, we visited the very tranquil Basildon Park in Berkshire, just outside of Pangbourne, as we were both off on Holiday and the weather was finally good enough to leave the house without being hidden under layers of waterproofs!

The house is built on 400 acres of parkland, originally landscaped by Sir Francis Sykes, and is the restoration of the 18th century mansion. The house was restored by Lord and Lady Iliffe and was left to the National Trust in 1979.
